Director, Sales Engineering & Technical Advisor

StrataCore is a fast-paced IT infrastructure consulting brokerage firm based in Seattle, WA. We represent over 400 service providers worldwide and broker cloud, data center, cyber-security and connectivity services.  We simplify the buying and selling of these services and help our clients navigate the global IT Services marketplace. Focus & Goal
The Director, Sales Engineering & Technical Advisor (DSETA) is responsible for working as an overlay and catalyst for brokering new services to our clients.  This includes in-person meetings, needs assessments, technical and contractual recommendations, and ongoing client support.  The DSETA is chartered with driving business relationships with both our clients and service providers, matching the requirements and capabilities of each, which results in optimally brokered services transactions. The ideal candidate is a thought leader across the IT Services landscape and can express this expertise to find new business, build customer loyalty, and meet or exceed quarterly revenue objectives. The necessary skills and job duties are listed below. 

Necessary Skills
The DSETA must demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, client services, and sales acquisition skills. The DSETA is responsible for establishing and building relationships with prospects, clients, service providers, and referral partners, and must demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the products and services brokered by StrataCore. The DSETA must have strong problem-solving and follow-through skills, be able to work independently, lead teams, and interact with various levels of management.   

 Ideal candidates have solution architect and sales transaction level experience with the following technologies and IT Services:

Cyber Security: MDR, EDR, MSSP, SEIM, Cyber Risk Assessments, SOCaaS, Pen Testing                         

Cloud: DRaaS, Managed public and private clouds, CDN, cloud architecture

Pro Services: Biz Process Outsourcing, CI/CD, Staff Aug

Communications: UCaaS, CCaaS, SIP

IT Infrastructure: Telecommunications, SD-WAN, Datacenters

The DSETA must consistently demonstrate the ability to self-motivate and perform in a non-structured environment. Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and sales drive are essential. The main goals are to work with our Account Directors to win new orders with existing customers, win new clients, ensure client satisfaction, and increase revenue for the company.

Required: 10-15 years minimum experience directly supporting the sales of the indicated IT Services to enterprise level businesses.

Job Duties:

  • Develop and implement a measurable new order acquisition growth strategy
  • Overlay on IT Services opportunities and assist with the sales process with our Account Directors
  • Develop strategic channel partnerships and eco-system to support StrataCore’s overall mission
  • Be actively involved in networking and participate on external panel discussions
  • Aggressively identify new opportunities within existing clients and help our Account Directors prospect for new clients
  • Complete ongoing “needs analysis” with prospects and clients and provide appropriate solutions
  • Work to maximize our referral and provider partner relationships
  • Be actively involved in helping company grow sales across all product offerings
  • Take the lead, working with our Account Directors, to manage contract and pricing negotiations on behalf of clients
  • Take full ownership and responsibility throughout the entire prospect and client life cycle
  • Be the subject matter expert for our clients, partners, and Account Directors
  • Understand challenges and opportunities as they relate to each client and provider partner
  • Ensure a beneficial resolution to client and provider partner concerns related to material business issues
  • Always look for ways to move opportunities and projects forward regardless of obstacles or challenges

The candidate we are seeking has strong verbal and written communication skills and excels at problem-solving and follow through. They need to be able to work independently, within teams, and interact with all levels of management. Ideally, the Sales Rep should have at least five years of technical sales experience, including Unified Communications and Contact Center. We pride ourselves in being both intellectually and emotionally intelligent and we require IQ/EQ testing during our interview process.
