Data Centers Require New Sensor Design Considerations

Copyright (c) 123RF Stock PhotosBill Kleyman discusses the advent of new technology and the rise in power requirements. As companies utilize high-density data centers, Kleyman highlights the necessity to come up with new ways of maintaining the data centers’ infrastructure, especially with the threat of overheating or overcooling computers. He references a Raritan paper which recommends incorporating into these data centers special sensors that gauge temperature, humidity, and airflow. The sensors would allow precise identification of overheated and/or overcooled areas, enable proper maintenance of data centers, increase efficiency, reduce expenses, and several other benefits.
